The Poor Man and the Rich Man the Two Final Destinations
Jesus Speaking
Jesus tells a story concerning the two destinations in the hereafter. It’s a tale of one seeking the way to God or the vertical view of life and one who ignored the vertical but only sought the horizontal (earthly) things in life. Both passed away and their two destinations are contrasted. It is both a warning and an encouragement to seek Him. For He desires all to come to Biblical repentance and Biblical faith in the Son, in the final Passover Lamb’s sacrifice on the Cross.
Jesus is authoritative and true in all He says. In his earthly ministry, he raised the dead, restored the sight of a blind man, healed the lame man, commanded the weather to stop, commanded demons to leave people. But his main ministry was to die as a substitutionary atonement for sin to open the door to heaven! Over 500 people met him live and in person after the resurrection! Jesus showed himself for 40 days after His resurrection then ascended into heaven in Acts chapter 1 v 1-9.

Therefore this story He told would invalidate the idea of “reincarnation”. Nobody is coming back for another chance but each person determines their final destination in this current earthly life!
Hebrews 9 v 27 confirms this. It is appointed unto man once to die and then the judgement or final destination is determined. 希伯來書 9 v 27 27 按著定命、人人都有一死、死後且有審判．
Being poor or rich is not a sin. But the poor man due to his circumstances in life sought the path to God and found it! The rich man because of his “love” of money which is a sin; he neglected his need to find the path to God and let earthly things be in first place.

- 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
- 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
- 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
- 28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
- 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
- 30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
- 31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

- 22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

- 5 因為 神知道、你們喫的日子眼睛就明亮了、你們便如 神能知道善惡。
- 6 於是女人見那棵樹的果子好作食物、也悅人的眼目、且是可喜愛的、能使人有智慧、就摘下果子來喫了．又給他丈夫、 他丈夫也喫了。
- 7 他們二人的眼睛就明亮了、纔知道自己是赤身露體、便拿無花果樹的葉子、為自己編作裙子。
- 8 天起了涼風、耶和華 神在園中行走。那人和他妻子聽見 神的聲音、就藏在園裡的樹木中、躲避耶和華 神的面。
- 9 耶和華 神呼喚那人、對他說、你在那裡。
- 10 他說、我在園中聽見你的聲音、我就害怕、因為我赤身露體．我便藏了。
- 11 耶和華說、誰告訴你赤身露體呢、莫非你喫了我吩咐你不可喫的那樹上的果子麼。
- 12 那人說、你所賜給我、與我同居的女人、他把那樹上的果子給我、我就喫了。
- 13 耶和華 神對女人說、你作的是甚麼事呢。女人說、那蛇引誘我、我就喫了。
- 14 耶和華 神對蛇說、你既作了這事、就必受咒詛、比一切的牲畜野獸更甚、你必用肚子行走、終身喫土。
- 15 我又要叫你和女人彼此為仇、你的後裔和女人的後裔、也彼此為仇．女人的後裔要傷你的頭、你要傷他的腳跟。
- 16 又對女人說、我必多多加增你懷胎的苦楚、你生產兒女必多受苦楚．你必戀慕你丈夫、你丈夫必管轄你。

- 19 你必汗流滿面纔得糊口、直到你歸了土、因為你是從土而出的．你本是塵土、仍要歸於塵土。
- 20 亞當給他妻子起名叫夏娃、因為他是眾生之母。
- 21 耶和華 神為亞當和他妻子用皮子作衣服、給他們穿。
- 22 耶和華 神說、那人已經與我們相似、能知道善惡．現在恐怕他伸手又摘生命樹的果子喫、就永遠活著．
- 23 耶和華 神便打發他出伊甸園去、耕種他所自出之土。
- 24 於是把他趕出去了．又在伊甸園的東邊安設基路伯、和四面轉動發火焰的劍、要把守生命樹的道路。
- 1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
- 2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
- 3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
- 4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
- 5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
- 6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
- 7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
- 8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
- 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
- 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
- 11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
- 1 當時、耶穌 被聖靈 引到曠野、受魔鬼的試探。
- 2 他禁食四十晝夜、後來就餓了。
- 3 那試探人的進前來、對他說、你若是 神的兒子、可以吩咐這些石頭變成食物。
- 4 耶穌 卻回答說、經上記著說、『人活著、不是單靠食物、乃是靠 神口裡所出的一切話。』
- 5 魔鬼就帶他進了聖城、叫他站在殿頂上、〔頂原文作翅〕
- 6 對他說、你若是 神的兒子、可以跳下去．因為經上記著說、『主要為你吩咐他的使者、用手托著你、 免得你的腳碰在石頭上。』
- 7 耶穌 對他說、經上又記著說、『不可試探主你的 神。』
- 8 魔鬼又帶他上了一座最高的山、將世上的萬國、與萬國的榮華、都指給他看、
- 9 對他說、你若俯伏拜我、我就把這一切都賜給你。
- 10 耶穌 說、撒但退去罷。〔撒但 就是抵擋的意思乃魔鬼的別名〕因為經上記著說、『當拜主你的 神、單要事奉他。』
- 11 於是魔鬼離了耶穌 、有天使來伺候他。
- 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
- 9 大龍就是那古蛇、名叫魔鬼、又叫撒但 、是迷惑普天下的．他被摔在地上、他的使者也一同被摔下去。
- 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
- 10 那迷惑他們的魔鬼、被扔在硫磺的火湖裡、就是獸和假先知所在的地方．他們必晝夜受痛苦、直到永永遠遠。
- 1 And God spake all these words, saying,
- 2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
- 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
- 4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
- 5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
- 6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
- 7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
- 8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
- 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
- 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
- 11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
- 12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
- 13 Thou shalt not kill. (the planned murder of an innocent person, not war or the death sentence in a country's court system)
- 14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
- 15 Thou shalt not steal.
- 16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

- 15 And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities (bowing before idols) unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:
- 16 Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.
- 17 Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

- 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
- 29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

- 28 只是我告訴你們、凡看見婦女就動淫念的、這人心裡已經與他犯姦淫了。
- 29 若是你的右眼叫你跌倒、就剜出來丟掉．寧可失去百體中的一體、不叫全身丟在地獄裡。
- 9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
- 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. (practice as a lifestyle)

- 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication (sex outside of marriage), uncleanness, lasciviousness,
- 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
- 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.(practice as a lifesatyle)

- 10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
- 11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
- 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
- 13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
- 14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
- 15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:
- 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:

- 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.

- 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

- 30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
- 31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

- 31 因為他已經定了日子、要藉著他所設立的人、按公義審判天下．並且叫他從死裡復活、給萬人作可信的憑據。
- 36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
- 36 我又告訴你們、凡人所說的閒話、當審判的日子、必要句句供出來。
- 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father (Heaven), but by me. (Jesus said He was the only path to Heaven, the only spiritual truth and the only entrance into Heaven. All other religious teachings and paths to heaven are false!)
- 6 耶穌 說、我就是道路、真理、生命．若不藉著我、沒有人能到父那裡去。 （耶穌說祂是通往天堂的唯一道路、 唯一的精神真理和進入天堂的唯一入口。所有其他宗教教義和通往天堂的道路都是錯誤的！）
- 2 And he is the propitiation (100% payment for sin in God's courtroom, past present and future) for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

- 24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

The original perfect world had a specially designed water layer in the sky around the earth. The orginal perfect world was like a greenhouse over the whole earth. This perfect world was protected from harmful radiation from the sun by the water layer in the sky. This perfect world allowed the full genetic potential of every livng thing to develop.That was all destroyed in Noah's flood in Genesis 7 v 11. Planet earth had an internal meltdown! Waters under the crust of the earth provided the source for flood waters!

This future event is recorded in the Bible (Revelation chapter 6-19). You can escape this coming judgement by receiving Jesus.
