The book of Daniel is probably one of the greatest prophetic books in the Bible as it lays out in advance in chapter 2 and 7 the Gentile kingdoms which shall rule until the Messianic Kingdom. It is also in Daniel chapter 9 that God lays out the 70 weeks of years determined for the nation of Israel including the 1st coming of her Messiah. Daniel was written in approx 606 to 536 BC during the life of Daniel in the Babylonian exile. It was also translated into a Greek version in 285 to 270 BC refuting those who try to late date the writings of Daniel to remove the prophetic implications of the book. In Daniel chapter 2 you have the statute of a man which represents the Gentile dominant ruling Gentile kingdoms that will chronologically be in power until the 1,000 year Messianic Kingdom that the Messiah will put in place when He returns in Revelation chapter 19.

In Daniel chapter 3 you have the amazing events of the fiery furnace with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and "one like the Son of God" who was with them. Awesome stuff!

In Daniel chapter 4 Nebuchadnezzar the prideful King of Babylon receives a might humbling! I expect to see him in heaven!

In Daniel chapter 5 the fall of Babylon to the Medo-Persians happens with the famous "the writing is on the wall" moment where Belshazzar's reign is ended.

In chapter 6 Daniel is betrayed by the false counsellors of Medo-Persia and thrown to certain death in the Lion's Den.

In chapter 7 we have the beasts representing the Gentile world kingdoms corresponding to the statute of the man in chapter 2. Some have said that chapter 2 shows man's view of these kingdoms but chapter 7 shows God view of them.

In chapter 8 we have the rise of Alexander the Great and his defeat of the Medo-Persian empire with an introduction to the final leader of the Revived Roman Empire the Anti-Christ.

Daniel chapter 9 parts 1 and 2 with the 70 weeks of years prophecy for Israel upon which all prophetic verses hang. Amazing prophecy! The last week of 7 years is yet future and the details are given in Revelation chapter 6 to 19.

In chapter 10 we get a glimpse of the unseen spiritual battle as an angel from God battles his way through the angels of darkness to give Daniel a vision about Israel in the end times.

In Daniel chapter 11 v 1-35 we have the decline of the Greek empire after Alexander's death and the 4 kingdoms it was divided into. We also have a fore runner of the Anti-Christ named Antiochus IV Epiphanes who desecrated the Jewish temple by slaughtering a pig on the altar and putting a idol of Zeus in the temple circa 168 BC. Matthew 24 v15 and 2 Thessalonians 2 v 3,4. We also see the introduction of the Roman Empire the final Gentile empire that has 2 phases.

The final chapter 12 speaks of the time of the end for Israel and her deliverance!

Ray Comfort from Living Waters does some evangelism around the secular Noah Movie just out in March 2014. It is pretty sad the Biblical illiteracy shown but some seemed to be moved by the Biblical Christian worldview presented.

Walter Brown offers an explanation of Noah's Flood. It starts with a different beginning point than what the atheists offer (ie a molten ball cooling down over millions of years). It starts with a perfect world with subterranean water within the crust and a type of water or vapor canopy covering the earth to provide garden of eden like conditions. When God judged the earth for its wickedness he allowed an internal meltdown of the earth with tremendous volcanoes and superheated underground water to burst up onto the land engulfing every living thing. You can escape the next coming judgement in Revelation chapter 6 to 19 by settling your sin debt to God out of court through His Son.
